One down, 47 to go!!!!

I'm starting a brand new series of paintings based on the businesses and buildings in the great little town I live in - Babinda. It's located in stunning far north Queensland, about 40 mins south of Cairns and an hour north of Mission Beach. It may be a small town but it's packed full of beautiful scenery, personalities galore and some great architecture.

The first collection will be based around the businesses and their buidlings.

The next collection will be based around the eclectic mix of houses in the town. There will be 2 versions of each work - an acrylic one and a gouache one.

The first painting (gouache version) is "Going Bananas". Babinda is surrounded by sugar cane and banana farms and this banana farm stall is quite iconic here. Located opposite the local school, you'll see many a caravan, camper van and local here. And, it's quite the place for our international (and interstate) visitors to take a selfie!
